Nate Leinen, D.D.S. | Owner

Dr. Nate Leinen grew up in Spencer, Iowa. He attended the University of Iowa where he graduated from the College of Dentistry in 2004. While there in 2001 he married his high school sweetheart, Lesa. In 2004 they moved to the Des Moines area and he began practicing in Grimes, Urbandale and Johnston. In 2011, he came to Ankeny and they built a home here in 2014. He and his wife Lesa have 3 amazing daughters, Ava, Autumn and Ambrey. They are very involved in gymnastics, swim team, choir and dance.
Brad Millard, D.D.S. | Owner

Dr. Millard was born and raised in the Des Moines area. Upon graduating from high school he went on to serve in the United States Army Special Operations Command from 1997-2004. After serving, his parents were not surprised that Dr. Millard decided to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a dentist.
In 2012, he graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.
Dr. Millard enjoys the art of dentistry and believes in continuing education. He is honored to have the opportunity to mentor other professionals on new procedures, including his passion for dental implants.
Dr. Millard, his wife Claudia and their children live in Ankeny. In his free time, Dr. Millard volunteers his time helping homeless Veterans. He also enjoys traveling, running, cycling and the outdoors. In the office, Dr. Millard looks forward to providing each patient detailed, personalized and quality care.
Cynthia Mo, D.D.S.

Dr. Cindy Mo was born and raised in the Des Moines area. At the age of 15, her own dental and orthodontic experiences sparked an interest in dentistry. She attended the University of Iowa for undergraduate studies where she later received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the College of Dentistry in 2016. Upon graduating she made Kansas home for seven years joining a group practice where she cultivated patient-centered care. Now that she has returned to Iowa to be closer to family, she is thrilled to join the team at Summit Family Dental and serve the growing Ankeny community.
Dr. Mo believes in the pursuit of clinical excellence by prioritizing hands-on continuing education in areas such as implantology, cosmetic dentistry, and clear aligner therapy. This has allowed her to take a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving and providing tailored care to the needs and desires of patients of all ages.

When she’s not serving patients, Dr. Mo enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes and Kansas City Chiefs, satisfying her “foodie” desires by exploring the restaurant scene, attending concerts, and traveling to embrace different cultural experiences.

Kyla | Office Manager
Kyla has an extensive background in dental insurance and customer service. She has lived in Ankeny for 20 years. Kyla and her husband Stan enjoy time with their four adult children along with their significant others and grandchildren. In Kyla’s free time she enjoys reading, taking walks and being in the sun!
McKenzie | Insurance Coordinator
McKenzie graduated in 2014 from Vatterott college with her Associate's as a Dental Assistant Specialist. McKenzie grew up in Ankeny and is an Ankeny Hawk alumnus. In 2015 she married her high school sweetheart, Zack. McKenzie started off in our office as a Dental Assistant in 2017 and in 2020 made the move to work front desk and become invested with insurance verification. McKenzie and her husband live in Ankeny and have two Goldendoodles Milo and Franklin; along with two cats Mittens and Severus. McKenzie and her husband Zack are expecting their first child in February 2023. In her free time, she enjoys: reading (Harry Potter Nerd), crafting, walking with her husband and dogs, and being with family and friends.
Megan | Hygienist
Megan graduated from DMACC in 2001 with her AAS in Dental Hygiene and is licensed to administer local anesthesia. Megan thrives to provide individualized treatment and dental hygiene education to all patients. Megan is involved in the Uptown Ankeny Association where she has owned and operated Therapeutic Massage Center for 23 years. Megan and her husband Brad, enjoy going to music concerts, traveling, Hawkeye sports and Cardinals Baseball. Daughter, Maddy, is 18 years old and will graduate from Ankeny High School in May. Maddy enjoys Competitive Dance and will be attending DMACC in the Nursing program. Megan, Brad and Maddy have 2 pug dogs, Carly and Maizy.
Brinkley | Hygienist
Brinkley graduated from Hawkeye Community College in 2015 with a dental assisting degree and then went on to get her dental hygiene degree from DMACC in 2019. Brinkley has been with Summit Family Dental since they opened in 2016 and has enjoyed watching the team and office grow over the past 6 years. Brinkley strives to provide quality and comfortable care to all of her patients. When Brinkley is not working, she enjoys spending time outside and traveling with her husband Bobby and two little girls Cali and Palmer.
Kassi | Hygienist
Kassi has practiced as a Dental Hygienist since she obtained her license in 2012 after graduating from Kirkwood Community College. She also has prior experience in Dental Assisting. She began teaching Dental Hygiene students as an adjunct clinical faculty member at Hawkeye Community College in early 2019 through fall of 2021. She is very passionate about patient focus and education. Kassi enjoys teamwork and helping patients to achieve good oral health, especially in challenging cases. She is also keen to advocate for patients' best interests in treatment relative to oral health goals. Outside of work, Kassi enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, and cheering for Iowa Hawkeye sports, especially wrestling. Kassi and her husband, Scott, have two daughters, Maddyn, Lindyn and Lachlyn.
Shelly | Hygienist
Shelly graduated in May of 1996 with her associates degree in Dental Hygiene from Parkland College in Champaign Illinois. Her goal has always been to provide the best possible care to patients based on their individual needs and ensuring their comfort throughout their entire visit. Shelly enjoys building relationships with her patients, and getting to know them and their families. Shelly has been married to her husband, Mike for 28 years and they have two daughters; Lexi, a senior at University of Iowa and Ashley, a freshman at the University of Kansas. When not in the office, you can find her relaxing with family and friends on her houseboat at Saylorville Lake. As well as attending Hawkeye and Jayhawk sporting events throughout the year. She also enjoys spoiling her dog Sadie and 3 cats: Kalani, Penelope and Sam.
Bonnie | Dental Assistant
Bonnie has over 13 years experience as a dental assistant and is certified in expanded functions level 1. She recently moved to Iowa from sunny Florida to be near her grandchildren and is looking forward to experiencing the change of seasons here. She enjoys dental assisting, is passionate about making patients feel comfortable, and thrives on helping a great office run smoothly. In her spare time Bonnie enjoys spending time with family, reading, cooking, and going to the beach.
Madison | Dental Assistant
Madison has previous assisting experience at a pediatric dental office in Ottumwa, Iowa before coming to Ankeny. Madison is from Bloomfield, Iowa but recently moved to Ankeny after graduation to attend DMACC to complete her prerequisite courses for dental hygiene. Madison is currently on the waitlist and plans to continue assisting during the meantime. In Madison’s free time she enjoys being outdoors, running, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family. Madison enjoys working with people of all ages and is excited to continue her education in the dental field.
Maddie | Dental Assistant
Maddie is a Registered Dental Assistant. Maddie came from 4 years of banking, but had been patiently waiting to pursue her education in the dental field. Maddie was born and raised in Des Moines and graduated from Lincoln High School in 2018. In Maddie’s spare time she likes to be with her two dogs Knoxx and Nala along with spending time with family and friends. Maddie looks forward to many years ahead, serving our patients and expanding her knowledge of the industry!
Brittney | Hygienist
Brittney graduated from Hawkeye Community College’s dental hygiene program in 2020 and has been practicing ever since. Her favorite part of her job is getting to know patients, and helping them improve their oral health based on their own personal needs. Brittney grew up in Southern California, but now lives in Huxley with her husband, Dexter. Together they have a Russian Blue named Lola and an Irish Wolfhound named Chief. When not at work, Brittney enjoys video games, board games, anything to do with the Lord of the Rings and traveling.
Mya | Dental Assistant
Mya graduated from Ankeny Centennial High School in Spring 2023. She is now taking her pre-requisites at DMACC for dental hygiene. While waiting to start the program, she plans to gain experience in the dental field by becoming a dental assistant. In Mya’s free time she enjoys going to the gym, playing with her dog Finny and hanging out with friends. Mya is excited to start her career in the dental field.
Kylie | Front Office Scheduling Coordinator
Kylie is a 2023 graduate of Panorama High School. She is currently finishing her prerequisites for the Dental Hygiene program at DMACC in Ankeny. She moved to the area this summer and enjoys going on walks around Ankeny. When back home she spends her time hanging out with friends and family, playing with her dog Brodie, seeing her baby brother and sister, and helping with anything on the farm. While on the waitlist for the Hygiene program, she is working to gain experience in understanding how the office runs up front and with the patients. Her favorite part of the job is getting to interact with the customers in the office and on the phone. Kylie is excited to learn and continue her education in the dental field at Summit!

To deliver the modern, state-of-the-art patient experience envisioned by Dr. Nate and Dr. Brad, every square foot of our office was designed and built to their exact specifications.
From our reception area, complete with refreshments, kids play area, and streaming Netflix, to our treatment rooms with the latest technology, you'll notice no detail was overlooked. We even feature an in house lab which offers the convenience of fabricating whitening trays, mouth guards, and retainers, eliminating a long waiting period and lab expenses.
This is a great dentist office!
Everyone is so friendly and professional! I had a chipped front tooth and after Dr. Millard was done, you can't tell which tooth was fixed. I'm 65, so I've had a lot of fillings and none look as good as this one! If you are looking for a dentist in Ankeny, you need to go here and tell them Nancy sent you! - Nancy
The people at Summit Dental are the best. The entire staff is friendly and professional. I have gone to Dr. Leinen since we moved here six years ago and he is outstanding. Never been more relaxed in the dentist chair than now and his work is top notch. Could not be happier. - Glenn
